Putting Together The Guest List
May 29, 2007
There are a few points to consider when coming up with the number of guests to be invited.
1) Type of wedding: Do both of you want a large gathering or a small intimate celebration.
2)Budget: How much money do you really want to spend on your wedding. Would you like a small gathering and have it be an elegant sit-down/black-tie dinner, or invite more people and have it be less elaborate.
3) Location: If you have a certain spot you wish to have your wedding, it may or may not be able to accommodate the number of wedding guests you are considering.
Fact: For the most part, the guest list usually is comprised of half the bride’s side and half the groom’s. Within that about 20-25% of invited guests being unable to attend.

Time Capsule Guest Book
May 16, 2007
Sick of not having room other than signing your name and writing “congrats!” in a wedding guest book.
Well, I went to a wedding last fall and saw a nice spin to the traditional guest book. The bride and groom compiled photographs of the two of them together, some were with family and others with some wedding guests.
The photos were arranged on the guest signing table for guests to look through, while reminiscing of old times they had shared with the bride and groom. When their guests found a photo they liked, they were to write a comment or piece of advice on the back.
It was placed in a time capsule wedding box, which the bride and groom were to open on their first anniversary.
Very unique and it did have guests talking and sharing stories of the bride and groom.

Tips on Jewellers
May 9, 2007
The following are some suggestions I think the groom should consider when he has decided to go ring shopping:
1) Make sure you deal with a reliable jeweller, someone who has been in business for a long time. Look for some type of certification that lets you know they are an expert in their field.
2) Determine the amount you can spend before you go shopping for the ring. Traditionally, they say you should not spend more than 3 months income.
3) Do your comparison shopping ahead of time, so that you are ready to hit the jeweller when they have their specials or sales throughout the year.
4) If you believe it is needed, get an appraisal done outside the jeweller’s as a condition of the sale. Keep the receipt for insurance purposes, as it should contain a full description of the ring.
5) Ask about returns, if you need to modify the ring after given to the bride. Maybe have it written on the receipt so there is no dispute later.
6) Ask if there is an extra charge to size the ring and if the jeweller’s insurance covers damages to the ring when being repaired or cleaned.
Happy Shopping!
